A Guide to Ensuring Compliance of Google’s Privacy Policy Requirements

The official requirements can be found here, but we recommend the following:

  1. The policy must be an active URL, not a PDF, therefore financial institutions should create a separate page for their Mobile Card App Privacy Policy that includes the following:
  2. Information regarding user privacy, including your app’s usage of location data; sample verbiage is within the privacy policy link below
  3. The verbiage should include the text ‘mobile application’ and a link to the financial institution’s general privacy policy
  4. A sample privacy policy can be found here, which can be used as a template when creating your new Mobile Card App privacy policy
  5. This policy should be linked to within the Google Play Store listing and within the DX Mobile app itself when clicking on “Privacy Policy”

Once your separate Mobile Card App privacy policy page is created, fill out a Modify Enrollment form via MemberConnect for DX Mobile so a Project Manager can be assigned to update your Google Play store listing and app accordingly.

  1. In the comment section of the form, include the URL of your privacy policy and request to have your DX Mobile app updated
  2. A step-by-step guide on how to access and fill out the form is available here

Google will email your financial institution if your app is removed. Follow the steps above to ensure your app is updated to avoid this.
